The shōtengai bears a particular resemblance to Sun Road, a large and well-known pedestrian arcade in Kichijōji, a neighborhood in Musashino, Tokyo Prefecture. If this was the visual model used to animate the shopping street, we can add one more Tokyo location to a show that’s supposed to be set in Hokkaido!
