The venue for the national swimming competition is modeled on the Namihaya Dome (なみはやドーム), part of the Osaka Prefectural Kadoma Sports Center (大阪府立門真スポーツセンター).

The Iwatobi team walks along a riverside promenade as they reflect on their progress. The jury is still out on whether this is a real location.
A few token images of Tokyo accompany Makoto and Haru’s transition to college life as the end credits begin to roll.
Some viewers speculated that the view of Tokyo Tower from the east is meant to suggest the pair are attending Keio University, which has a handful of towers approximately in this location, separate from the main campus near Mita Station.
